I've long been an avid fan of all things related to "BLUES."  And ...   since somewhere around mid 2002  I  have pretty much painted only  blues personalities, working  from my own  photographs  taken  at  the  various "Blues Festivals"  which  I attend  (festivals for the most part in  the MISSISSIPPI  DELTA region), but also from photographs provided by commissions and public domain sources or explicit permission obtained from photographers  &/or the personalities or their agents.

My work is exhibited on an on going basis in a number of places in the delta region and specifically in  CAT HEAD BLUES  & FOLK ART on  Delta Ave.   SUPER CHIK'ANS  PL. @ BLUES BERRY CAFE on Yazoo Ave...and  SOUTHERN EXPRESSIONS on Delta Ave; all  in CLARKSDALE, MS.

One of my  paintings, depicting the interior of GROUND ZERO BLUES CLUB in Clarksdale (which I painted for  MR MORGAN FREEMAN and personally presented the painting to him, my hands to his hands) is displayed  in  MADIDI, the upscale restaurant  in Clarksdale Ms; also co-owned  by this famous actor.

This was in GROUND ZERO BLUES CLUB the evening after I presented to Morgan Freeman  the painting and he instructed that it be hung in the main lounge in Madidi Restaurant.

Southern Expressions typlifies the new life being breathed into
the area known as Blues Alley in Clarksdale, Ms. This shop on Delta Ave, only a matter of feet from Ground Zero Blues Club is stocked with quality, strictly original works of art created mainly by the ladies pictured above, and I feel priviledged to have my portraits exhibited there. Thanks Wendi and Norma...

           The Depot Blues Club & Restaurant...August, 2008
This is absolutely one of my favorite places in Clarksdale, Ms.
pretty quiet in the mornings around there but certainly livens up during the evenings, especially during the festival days and they serve some of the better food in this area.
